IL SALUTO DI FABIO MONTICO

Presidente Ass. Culturale Giulio Montico e Direttore Generale International Circus Festival of Italy

 

La cadenza annuale del Festival ci offre tante opportunità: gli occhi puntati sulla pista illuminata di bellezza ci fanno scorgere un mondo lieve, entro il quale il Circo sia, come accade da sempre, luogo d’incontro, sede per il confronto fra i popoli e le nazioni. In questo tempo tormentato e complesso ho chiarissima la caratura della pista: essa accomuna, non divide, indipendentemente dalle questioni etniche, linguistiche, religiose... Ed in questo si sostanzia ciò che davvero ha in animo l’Associazione Culturale “Giulio Montico”, impegnata da oltre vent’anni nella produzione del Festival Internazionale di Circo d’Italia. Nella pista non c’è spazio per altro che non sia la comune volontà di celebrare bellezza ed armonia, leggerezza e spensieratezza. Questo vorrei fortemente che fosse possibile oggi, così come lo è stato ieri, così come auspichiamo sarà domani. Pertanto giunga il mio più sentito ringraziamento a quanti hanno reso possibile questa ventitreesima edizione del Festival, dapprima gli artisti: ciascuno di loro ha inteso partecipare alla competizione con lo spirito dell’agonista, dello sportivo, nella capacità di applaudire l’avversario e nell’auspicio che dall’avversario potrà essere applaudito. Un cordiale benvenuto ai membri della prestigiosa Giuria Tecnica Internazionale: la vostra presenza a Latina incoraggia gli artisti a migliorarsi ed a competere con l’ambizione di poter intraprendere nuovi percorsi professionali. Questo favorisce la crescita del Circo e ne consolida l’affermazione tra le più autorevoli forme di espressione artistica. Un forte “grazie” giunga a tutto lo staff che, anno dopo anno, dai ruoli di maggiore visibilità fino a quelli più nascosti, sta diventando una squadra robusta ed affiatata: penso alla Direzione di Pista, ai presentatori, ai tecnici audio-video, ai tecnici delle luci, all’orchestra, agli uffici di Produzione, alle maestranze… risorse tutte italiane, segno tangibile che il Circo “made in Italy” è ancora forte e capace di allestire con assoluta professionalità e tanta dedizione opportunità di spettacolo dal vivo foriere di autentica bellezza per il mondo intero. Ed a quanti converranno a Latina, perché artisti, operatori di settore oppure spettatori, l’augurio di poter percepire e vivere concretamente il grande Chapiteau come fosse autentica casa per tutti e per ciascuno.

The yearly appointment with the Festival offers us many opportunities: eyes fixed on the wonderfully glittering circus ring show us a light-hearted world of joy and pleasure, where the Circus is, as it always has been, a meeting place where nations and peoples encounter each other. In these complicated and tormented times, the role of the Circus ring is very clear to me: it does not divide us. It unites people, regardless of ethnic, linguistic, religious or any other differences… In effect, this is the ethos of the ‘Giulio Montico Cultural Association’, which has been producing the International Circus Festival of Italy for over 20 years. There is no space in the ring for anything other than to celebrate beauty, harmony, light-heartedness and serenity. I strongly wish for this to be the case today, as it was yesterday, and as we hope for it to be tomorrow. Therefore I offer my deepest gratitude to all those who have made this twenty-third edition of the Festival possible, and firstly wish to thank the performers: each and every one of you is participating in the spirit of professional competition, which includes applauding your rivals and being applauded by them. My cordial welcome also goes to the esteemed members of the International Technical Jury: your presence here encourages the artists to work harder and to perform and compete in the hope of embarking on new professional ventures. This helps the Circus to grow, and consolidates its standing as one of the most important forms of artistic manifestation. My sincere thanks go to all the staff of the Festival who, year after year, from the prominent roles to the more hidden ones, have continued to go from strength to strength, becoming a strong and close team: I’m thinking of the men who seamlessly run the ring, the presenters, the audio-video technicians, the lighting engineers, the orchestra, the production office, and all the other logistical staff...all Italian, a tangible sign that professional live-performance Circus shows of the highest possible level can be produced by a highly expert team entirely ‘Made in Italy’. To everyone who comes to Latina, whether it be performers, Circus workers, or spectators, my hope is that they will experience our shows under the big top in the spirit of the Circus, which represents a home for each and every one of us.

UN ARTISTA GIAPPONESE PER LA PRIMA VOLTA AL FESTIVAL D’ITALIA

 

FOR THE FIRST TIME AT THE ITALIAN CIRCUS FESTIVAL, WE PRESENT A PERFORMER FROM JAPAN

 

1. NAOTO OKADA

GIAPPONE – GIOCOLERIA CON LO YO-YO

JAPAN – JUGGLING WITH YO-YO

Naoto Okada nasce a Hiroshima, in Giappone, il 15 Dicembre 1987. Naoto presenta a Latina un numero di giocoleria con lo yo-yo. Nei sette minuti della sua performance intitolata The King of yo-yo, il giovane artista giapponese, già due volte campione del mondo nella sua disciplina, utilizza differenti yo-yo per sorprendere il pubblico. Brio, tempismo, precisione, velocità sono le parole chiave di un’esibizione impreziosita da coreografia e colonna sonora che invitano al coinvolgimento. Formatosi presso la Souri International Circus School, in Giappone, Naoto ha debuttato come artista nel 2009 potendo ad oggi già vantare importanti partecipazioni entro produzioni di spettacolo sia circense che di varietà in Europa e particolarmente in Germania.

 

Naoto Okada was born in Hiroshima, Japan, on December 15, 1987. Naoto is presenting a yo-yo juggling number at Latina. In his seven-minute performance, entitled The King of Yo-Yo, this young performer, a double world champion in this skill, surprises the audience with different yo-yos. Verve, timing, precision and speed are the keywords of this performance, which is accompanied by intriguing choreography and soundtrack. Trained at the Souri International Circus School in Japan, Naoto débuted as a performer in 2009, and has already appeared in many important circus and variety shows across Europe, and in particular in Germany.

UKRAINIAN PERFORMERS PAY HOMAGE TO THEIR HOMELAND IN AN ACROBATIC PERFORMANCE CREATED ESPECIALLY FOR THE ITALIAN FESTIVAL

Alesia Pavlova e Mariia Sushko sono nate entrambe nel 1999 in Ucraina, Alesia a Zaporizhya e Mariia a Pershotravensk. Dopo aver completato gli studi presso il Dnepropetrovsk College of Culture and Arts, le due giovani artiste ucraine hanno perfezionato la loro formazione fino al 2021 presso l’Università Statale di Kiev per la Cultura e l’Arte. Il loro sodalizio artistico, il Duo Viva, intende porgere un omaggio all’intera popolazione del loro Paese in rappresentanza della compagnia del Circo di Stato dell’Ucraina: il “tenersi per mano”, di per sé gesto fondamentale per un numero aereo, vuole qui rappresentare l’opportunità di risollevarsi e di farcela contando sull’aiuto che ciascuno può dare all’altro anche quando tutto attorno le circostanze ispirino alla tristezza o al dolore. La performance è stata ideata nell’Aprile del 2022 nel pieno della guerra.

 

Alesia Pavlova and Mariia Sushko were both born in Ukraine in 1999, Alesia in Zaporizhya and Mariia in Pershotravensk. After finishing their schooling at the Dnepropetrovsk College of Culture and Arts, these two performers completed their training until 2021 at Kyiv National University of Culture and Arts. Their artistic partnership, Duo Viva, is aimed at paying homage to their whole country in representation of the Ukrainian State Circus Company: ‘holding hands’ is a fundamental part of any aerial number, but here it also alludes to recovery and to giving each other a hand to overcome sad and painful events. This performance was conceived in April 2022, as war continued.

COLOMBIA – HAND TO HAND

Charly jr e Wuilder Alexander sono due fratelli colombiani nati rispettivamente nel ’96 e nel ’97 a Cartagena. Avevano appena 8 e 7 anni quando iniziarono a lavorare come artisti circensi potendo vantare quale maestro il loro papà: da allora la loro carriera non ha mai subito interruzioni; gli Hermanos Acero, oltre che in Colombia, si sono già esibiti in Giappone, Spagna, Francia, Svizzera e Germania. A Latina presentano un numero di “mano a mano”, una disciplina acrobatica nella quale la forza fisica ed una tecnica molto precisa consentono di praticare evoluzioni sorprendenti; il trucco finale, il “testa a testa”, è reso particolarmente complesso poiché viene realizzato senza interporre alcunché tra i due artisti.

 

Charly jr. and Wuilder Alexander are two Colombian brothers born respectively in ’96 and ’97 in Cartagena. They were 8 and 7 years old when they started their circus careers, under the watchful eye and tutelage of their father: since then their career has been non-stop; the Hermanos Acero have performed in Japan, Spain, France, Switzerland and Germany as well as in their native Colombia. At Latina, they are presenting a hand to hand number, an acrobatic discipline that requires great physical strength as well as strong technique in order to execute the complex movements of this performance; the final trick, a ‘head to head’ is particularly difficult as it is done without the use of a donut.

Quello di Jonathan Rossi al Festival del Circo d’Italia è un atteso ritorno: era il lontano 2010 quando la dodicesima edizione del Festival vide un giovanissimo Jonathan irrompere in pista con una performance adrenalinica a bordo della sua bicicletta: specialista nel bike-trial, membro di una famiglia che ha fatto la storia del Circo italiano, Jonathan ha maturato da autodidatta quelle competenze che dal 2008 ad oggi lo hanno reso famoso in tutto il mondo come acrobata ciclista; egli può vantare il primato di aver portato la sua disciplina sui palcoscenici di prestigiosi Teatri e Varietà che, prima d’allora, mai avevano ospitato simili esibizioni. Le partecipazioni di Jonathan a noti programmi televisivi hanno incrementato la sua popolarità e l’apprezzamento che gli viene riservato dal grande pubblico.

 

Jonathan Rossi’s appearance at this year’s Italian Circus Festival is a welcome return: his last time here was in 2010 at the 12th edition of the Festival, as a young performer blazing around the ring with a high-adrenaline acrobatic bicycle number. Specialising in bike-trial, and member of a prominent Italian Circus family, Jonathan has further developed the skills that have made him world-famous since 2008. Since then, he has taken this discipline to the best theatres and variety shows, which had previously not hosted this type of performance. His popularity has also been increased by numerous TV appearances, which have helped him gain a big fan following.

5. ANTONIO VARGAS

Antonio Vargas nasce a Malaga, in Spagna, il 26 Ottobre 1981. Antonio presenta a Latina un numero nel quale più discipline circensi, le verticali ed il palo aereo, si mescolano efficacemente avendo la danza come collante. La versatilità dell’artista è il risultato della sua formazione negli ambiti della ginnastica, della danza – con particolare riguardo al flamenco – e del circo contemporaneo. Il debutto artistico di Antonio Vargas risale all’anno 2000; ad oggi si è esibito presso varietà, teatri, circhi e prestigiosi dinner show sia in Europa che negli Emirati Arabi Uniti.

 

Antonio Vargas was born in Malaga, in Spain, on October 26, 1981. At Latina, Antonio is presenting a number that contains more than one discipline, namely verticals and aerial pole, which combine beautifully with the addition of dance elements. The versatility of this artist derives from his training in gymnastics, dance – in particular Flamenco – and contemporary circus. Antonio Vargas’ début was in 2000, and he has since appeared in theatres, circuses, variety and dinner shows both in Europe and in the United Arab Emirates.

Era l’anno 2011 quando la troupe Flying Martini calcava per la prima volta la pista del Festival Internazionale del Circo d’Italia per aggiudicarsi l’ambito “Latina d’Oro”. Da allora il percorso artistico dei volanti italiani per eccellenza è stato un susseguirsi di successi tra i quali citiamo il “Junior d’Oro” a Monte-Carlo e l’inserimento di Michael Martini nel Guinness dei primati come più giovane artista al mondo ad aver eseguito un quadruplo salto mortale. Sembra davvero che Michael, figlio di Darix Martini e Sabrina Dell’Acqua, sotto la sapiente guida del suo maestro René Rodogell Ramos, sia destinato a divenire il depositario di una disciplina tanto spettacolare quanto cara alla più antica tradizione circense.

 

In 2011 the Flying Martini troupe appeared in the International Circus Festival of Italy for the first time, winning the Latina d’Oro, which is the top, gold award. Since then the artistic path of these Italian acrobats has continued to further successes, including the Junior d’Or at Monte-Carlo and the inclusion of Michael Martini in the Guinness Book of Records as the youngest performer in the world to achieve a quadruple backwards somersault. It looks like Michael, son of Darix Martini and Sabrina Dell’Acqua, under the careful eye of his trainer René Rodogell Ramos, is destined to be the torchbearer of this popular, ancient and spectacular circus discipline.

7. MILENA OKSANEN

FINLANDIA – TRAPEZIO OSCILLANTE

FINLAND – SWINGING TRAPEZE

Milena Oksanen è una giovane artista nata ad Helsinki, capitale della Finlandia. La sua formazione è al tempo stesso da ginnasta e da artista del Circo: nella ginnastica artistica ha conseguito numerosi premi a livello nazionale, nel mondo del Circo ha conseguito specializzazioni sia presso la Moscow State Circus School che presso l’Académie Fratellini. Dal 2010 ad oggi, Milena si è esibita in 16 Paesi ed in 5 continenti in numerose discipline quali: danza, recitazione, pole-dance, tessuti, cerchio aereo, trapezio fisso ed oscillante. Ed è proprio il trapezio al centro delle performance che Milena Oksanen presenta a Latina in occasione della ventitreesima edizione del Festival: swinging trapeze e tango trapeze.

 

Milena Oksanen is a young performer from Helsinki, the capital of Finland. She trained as a gymnast as well as in Circus arts: in artistic gymnastics she won numerous national medals, and in the Circus world she trained in several disciplines at the Moscow State Circus School and at l’Académie Fratellini. Since 2010, Milena has performed in 16 countries and all five continents in a wide range of disciplines: dance, acting, pole-dance, silks, aerial hoop, fixed trapeze, swinging trapeze. Milena Oksanen will be working with the trapeze at the 23rd edition of the International Circus Festival of Italy: swinging trapeze and tango trapeze.

Non ci sarebbe Circo se non ci fossero i Clown, e quest’anno il Clown in gara al Festival Internazionale del Circo d’Italia arriva da molto lontano: dalla Repubblica del Cile, all’estremo sud-ovest del continente americano. Formatosi presso La Mancha Theater School in Cile (Metodo Lecoq), e successivamente in India e Spagna, il Clown Matute ha intrapreso la propria carriera artistica nel 2009 e si è già esibito in alcuni tra i più importanti circhi sia in Cile che in Europa. Non ci sarà tregua per il pubblico degli spettacoli del Festival: Clown Matute interverrà a sorpresa durante gli show cercando tra gli spettatori i propri partner artistici per tenere un divertente incontro di box e poi per dar vita ad un’orchestra alquanto singolare.

 

It wouldn’t be a Circus without a clown, and this year one of our competing clowns comes from far away to compete in the International Circus Festival of Italy: from the Republic of Chile, in the south-west of South America. Clown Matute trained at La Mancha Theater School in Chile (Lecoq method), and subsequently in India and Spain, beginning his artistic career in 2009; he has performed in many important circuses both in Chile and in Europe. Clown Matute will pop up during our shows to invite members of the audience to appear with him in a boxing ring and as an unusual orchestra.

Armen Asiryants irrompe a più riprese durante gli spettacoli del Festival Internazionale del Circo d’Italia per assicurare, ai più piccoli come ai più grandi, quella dimensione di leggerezza e di divertimento che solo i clown sanno regalare al loro pubblico. La scatola di sigari, l’automobile, il pallone e il pittore sono le quattro performance comiche nelle quali Armen sarà accompagnato da Bella Kotanjyan, sua compagna nella vita oltre che in pista. Armen & Bella sono entrambi provenienti dall’Armenia: Armen vanta un’esperienza quarantennale nel mondo della clownerie, Bella ha debuttato come artista nel 2009.

 

Armen Asiryants will be popping up during the shows of the International Circus Festival of Italy to provide laughter for young and old. The performances will include cigar boxes, a car, a ball and a painter, in four different scenes. Armen is accompanied by Bella Kitanjyan, his professional partner as well as his companion in life. Armen and Bella are both from Armenia: Armen has 40 years of experience as a clown, while Bella’s début was in 2009.

João Godinho è un acrobata proveniente dal Portogallo: il suo percorso artistico reca le tracce di una ricerca continua. João, rincorrendo le sue emozioni, si è affermato per oltre 15 anni come sportivo nella ginnastica e, successivamente, nelle diverse forme di espressione artistica: dal Teatro alla Televisione, dalla Danza al Canto, dalla Recitazione fino al Circo. Nell’esibizione alle cinghie aeree dal titolo Hope, João Godinho impiega il linguaggio del corpo per trasmettere emozioni al pubblico: il pupazzo, metafora dei ruoli entro cui talvolta ciascuno è imbrigliato, intende svincolarsi dai legacci che lo limitano nelle sue libertà.

 

João Godinho is an acrobat from Portugal. His artistic path reflects continuing study and growth. João was in the world of sport for over 15 years as a gymnast, before choosing an artistic path that found him in theatre and television, in dance and singing, in acting and then in the Circus. In his aerial straps number entitled Hope, João Godinho uses his body language to convey his feelings to the audience: the puppet, a metaphor for the roles that we are all tied into, tries to free itself of the strings that bind it and restrict its freedom.

Cristina Santos Garcia è nata il 19 Ottobre del ’95 in Spagna, compirà dunque 27 anni alla conclusione di questa edizione del Festival. Cristina appartiene ad una famiglia circense ed è fiera di riconoscere nella sua mamma anche la sua maestra nell’Arte. Fin dall’età di 10 anni Cristina si è esibita nel Circo con la sua famiglia, poi, compiuti i 16 anni, ha intrapreso la carriera come solista esibendosi soprattutto nei Varietà e nei Dinner-Show in tutti i Paesi d’Europa. La sua straordinaria flessibilità, unita ad un’indubbia femminilità, sono i presupposti del numero in gara al Festival: nella sua esibizione di contorsionismo Cristina utilizza una balestra in modo assai inconsueto.

 

Cristina Santos Garcia was born in Spain in 1995, and will be 27 at the end of this edition of the Festival. Cristina comes from a Circus family, and is proud to have her own mother as her trainer. She performed in the Circus with her family from the age of ten, but at 16 she decided to launch her solo career, subsequently appearing in variety and dinner shows across Europe. Her incredible flexibility, combined with her alluring femininity, form the basis of her contortionist act for the Festival: during her performance she also displays unusual skills with a crossbow.

Rispettivamente ventuno e ventitre anni, Erika e Alessandro Togni rappresentano la quinta generazione artistica di una famiglia che ha reso celebre il Circo italiano nel mondo. I Togni, depositari della più antica tradizione circense, hanno educato i loro giovani alla cultura del Circo trasferendo di padre in figlio l’amore per la pista e per gli animali. Ispiratore e loro primo Maestro fu il nonno Elvio cui Erika e Alessandro Togni devono il merito di aver favorito l’incontro e l’amicizia con i cavalli. Il papà Erik, poi, ha saputo coniugare il dinamismo di Alessandro con l’eleganza di Erika in un passo a due equestre che è il punto d’arrivo di un lungo periodo di allenamento.

 

Erika and Alessandro Togni are respectively 21 and 23 years old, and represent the 5th artistic generation of a family that has made Italian Circus world-famous. The Togni family, custodians of the oldest Circus tradition, have educated their youngsters in Circus culture, transferring their love of Circus, and for their animals, from father to son. Their inspiration and first teacher was their grandfather, Elvio, who introduced them to horses. Their father, Erik, has combined the vitality of Alessandro with the elegance of Erika to produce an equestrian pas de deux which is the result of a long period of training and preparation.

Flor Aracama e Nico Busso, già noti al grande pubblico per aver partecipato a numerosi spettacoli televisivi dedicati ai giovani talenti, sono una coppia di artisti provenienti rispettivamente dall’Argentina e dall’Italia. Per oltre dieci anni hanno praticato con successo la ginnastica ritmica ed artistica: al loro attivo la partecipazione ad oltre 700 repliche di una delle più note produzioni del Cirque du Soleil per oltre 1,5 milioni di spettatori. La performance ai cerchi aerei del Duo Rings è il risultato della felice combinazione tra la passione per lo sport e quella per lo spettacolo dal vivo che anima i due artisti; qui il Circo contemporaneo sposa un elemento della tradizione: gli anelli.

 

Flor Aracama and Nico Busso, already well-known to the public with numerous appearances on TV talent shows, are a couple of performers from, respectively, Argentina and Italy. They started their activity as rhythmic and artistic gymnasts: they have over 700 appearances with Cirque du Soleil under their belts, counting 1.5 million spectators. The performance of Duo Rings with aerial rings is the result of their love for sport and also for live performance; her we see contemporary Circus combined with a traditional apparatus: the rings.

Carlo Triberti appartiene ad una delle famiglie storiche del grande Circo italiano di cui egli rappresenta la settima generazione artistica. Carlo ha già conquistato il pubblico delle più prestigiose platee di tutto il mondo con il talento che esprime al meglio quando calza i suoi pattini a rotelle. Nella sua disciplina, Carlo Triberti è detentore di primati a livello mondiale. La sua partner è Ursula Nunez Rossi, alla quinta generazione artistica della sua famiglia. Poco più di un metro e mezzo il diametro della pedana circolare sulla quale i Tribertis presentano un numero di pattinaggio acrobatico le cui evoluzioni sono di indubbia pericolosità.

 

Carlo Triberti is a member of one of Italy’s most renowned Circus families, and represents the seventh generation of its performers. Carlo has already won over distinguished audiences around the world with his talent on roller skates, and in this discipline, Carlo Triberti holds world records. His partner is Ursula Nuñez Rossi, a fifth-generation performer of her family. The circular base on which they work has a small diameter of a little over a metre and a half: on this platform they present an exhilarating acrobatic skating number which is both exciting and dangerous.

Attratto fin da bambino dai piccoli giochi di magia che gli proponeva suo padre e, più tardi, da quelli cui poteva assistere in televisione, Raúl Alegría è cresciuto subendo il fascino della magia e dell’illusionismo. Ad oggi, dopo trent’anni di esibizioni in teatri, circhi, varietà ed ogni tipo di spettacolo, Raúl è un mago famoso in oltre 25 Paesi del mondo. Sua specialità sono le grandi illusioni che egli propone entro coreografie cariche di forza e dinamismo. Il più recente riconoscimento assegnato a Raúl Alegría è il Merlin Award assegnatogli nel 2018 dalla International Magicians Society come migliore escapologista. Il numero in scena a Latina è un assoluto inedito creato in occasione del Festival.

 

Raúl Alegría grew up fascinated by magic and illusionism: as a small child, he watched his father doing magic tricks, and later on watched magic on television. Today, Raúl is an established illusionist with thirty years of experience in theatres, circuses, variety shows and more, and has performed in over 25 countries around the world. His speciality is big illusions, which he presents with dynamic and powerful choreography. Raúl Alegría’s most recent accolade is the Merlin Award, given to him in 2018 by the International Magicians Society for best escapologist. The new number he is bringing to Latina has been created especially for this Festival.

Sono tre i giovani artisti che partecipano al Festival Internazionale del Circo d’Italia con un numero di bascula: si tratta di una disciplina acrobatica estremamente complessa e non scevra da rischi e pericoli; la bascula è uno strumento che in qualche modo ricorda una bilancia a due piatti: i volteggi ed i salti mortali mozzafiato risultano dalla spinta che un’estremità dell’attrezzo fornisce agli artisti per effetto della forza peso che i partner esercitano sull’estremità opposta; come non cogliere lo slancio, l’energia e la determinazione di questa troupe.

Tic Tac Trio is composed of three young performers appearing at the International Circus Festival of Italy with a teeterboard number: this is a complex discipline in which can be both risky and dangerous. The teeterboard, or bascule, is an apparatus that resembles a large balance with two discs either end: the high somersaults and rotations of the flyer are the result of the other performers’ weight as they jump onto on the opposite side, which gives the impetus for the spectacular airborne acrobatics which this energetic and determined troupe present.

Nel Circo il rapporto tra addestratori ed animali è improntato sul rispetto e sulla fiducia; gli animali nei circhi sono compagni di viaggio, oltre che di lavoro, dei tanti uomini e donne che con loro gravitano attorno alla medesima pista. L’addestramento in dolcezza consente di allestire esibizioni che entusiasmano grandi e piccoli. Questo è in animo al numero di jockeys presentato a Latina dalla Troupe di József Richter Jr: nella loro performance il mondo dei cavalli e quello dell’acrobatica si incontrano efficacemente: salti mortali ed acrobazie mozzafiato marcano gli accenti di una coreografia che va goduta tutta d’un fiato. Nato nel ’92, József rappresenta la settima generazione artistica di una famiglia storica del Circo ungherese. All’età di 5 anni debuttò sulla pista di un Circo nella troupe di suo fratello Flórián e presto si esibì da solista con i pony. Laureatosi presso la Ferenc Nádasi High School dell’Accademia Ungherese di Danza, József ha primeggiato anche nella Ginnastica sportiva e nel tennis. Nel 2009 fu nominato Manager Tecnico del Circo di Stato dell’Ungheria e dal 2013 ne è il Direttore.

 

In the Circus, the relationship between trainer and animal is built on respect and trust; circus animals are life companions as well as working partners of the people who share the circus ring with them. The training method known as ‘positive reinforcement’ allows trainers to prepare displays that both young and old can enjoy. This is the basis of the jockey number that the József Richter Jr. troupe is presenting at Latina: their performance skilfully merges physical agility with equestrian skills: somersaults and breath-taking acrobatics are the accents of this fast-paced and expertly choreographed horsemanship number. Born in 1992, Jòzsef represents the seventh generation of a renowned Hungarian Circus family. He débuted in the Circus at the age of five with his brother Flórián’s troupe, and was soon performing solo with ponies. Graduating at the Ferenc Nádasi High School of the Hungarian Dance Academy, József was also a successful gymnast and tennis player. In 2009 he was nominated as Technical Manager of the State Circus of Hungary, and since 2013 he has been its Director.

József Richter Jr intende stigmatizzare il ruolo determinante degli animali nel Circo tradizionale presentando un secondo numero: al centro della pista József interagisce amichevolmente con i suoi cavalli in libertà; come non ricordare che il Circo cosiddetto “tradizionale” nasce come circo equestre: parrà evidente come la relazione uomo-cavallo sia improntata sul reciproco affidamento e sull’assoluto rispetto, presupposti ineludibili per ottenere una performance tecnicamente ineccepibile e di grande impatto per il pubblico di ogni età. La relazione di József Richter Jr con gli animali, del resto, è assai ampia: egli si è esibito con cammelli, lama, cavalli arabi, frisoni, giraffe, tori e persino con l’elefante indiano Szandra noto per aver partecipato al fianco di Roger Moore ai film di James Bond. Nel 2014 József Richter Jr con la sua Troupe si è aggiudicato il Golden Pierrot Award al decimo Festival Internazionale del Circo di Budapest, unico artista ungherese ad essere riuscito in tale primato.

 

József Richter Jr. presents a second equine number, reminding us that traditional circus in the ring was founded on animal acts in the form of equestrian displays. In this number, he works harmoniously with his liberty horses, demonstrating the relationship between horse and man, which is based on reciprocal trust and complete respect, both absolutely necessary to produce a performance that is both technically seamless and artistically pleasing to audiences of all ages. József Richter Jr. has ample experience of working with animals: he has performed with camels, llamas, Arabian horses, Friesians, giraffes, bulls, and even with the Indian elephant called Szandra, which worked with Roger Moore in a James Bond movie. In 2014, József Richter Jr. and his troupe won the Golden Pierrot Award at the tenth International Circus Festival of Budapest, and he is the only Hungarian performer to have achieved that distinction.

A fronte di un cognome che evoca antiche origini svizzero-francofone, Gabriel Grandpierre, diciottenne ungherese, è cresciuto in una famiglia di ginnasti del tutto estranei all’ambiente dello spettacolo. All’età di 14 anni si è iscritto alla scuola di formazione artistica Baross Imre Artistaképző Intézet Szakgimnázium (BIAK) dove, grazie alle sue innate doti di flessibilità e ad un rigido allenamento, ha maturato la passione per le verticali oltre che per la danza e per le arti sceniche. L’oro conseguito al Newcomer Show del Festival Internazionale del Circo di Budapest gli è valso l’invito a raggiungere Latina per presentare un numero inedito coreografato dall’insegnante Éva Losonczyné Nagy.

 

With a surname that echoes his Swiss-French origins, Gabriel Grandpierre is an eighteen-year-old from Hungary who grew up in a family that had no connections to the showbiz world. When he was 14, he started his artistic training at Baross Imre Artistaképző Intézet Szakgimnázium (BIAK) where, thanks to his innate flexibility and good training, he developed an interest in hand balance as well as for dance and performance arts. Following his gold award at the International Circus Festival of Budapest Newcomer Show, he was invited to take part in the Festival at Latina with a brand new number choreographed by his teacher, Éva Losonczyné Nagy.

Nato in Ungheria in una famiglia impegnata da generazioni nel mondo del Circo, Laido Dittmar ha già al suo attivo un’esperienza artistica ventennale culminata con la partecipazione alle produzioni internazionali del Cirque du Soleil e della compagnia Recirquel. Laido ha creato un nuovo stile per la giocoleria moderna e con esso ha calcato le piste dei circhi di tutto il mondo potendo conseguire diversi record personali. La sua performance iconica si intitola Dreamlight e, sebbene sia ambientata nel mondo dei musical hollywoodiani degli anni ’50 sulle note di una melodia jazz, presenta numerosi motivi di “rottura” con la tradizione. Laido Dittmar è autore del volume The Art of Practice con il quale intende ispirare nuove generazioni artistiche verso le quali oggi è proteso.

 

Born in Hungary in a family with a long history in the Circus, Laido Dittmar already has twenty years’ experience, including international work with Cirque du Soleil and Recirquel. Laido has created a new style of modern juggling, which he has taken around the world, creating several personal records. His performance is entitled Dreamlight, and although it evokes Hollywood musical movies of the fifties, with a jazz feel, it still breaks with traditional juggling. Laido Dittmar is the author of The Art of Practice, which he wrote specifically to reach out to and inspire new generations.

Viviana Rossi è nata a Reus, in Spagna. Appena adolescente ha conseguito i primi successi nel mondo della ginnastica artistica, per accedere poi alle discipline acrobatiche circensi. Specializzatasi nelle cinghie aeree, Viviana si è esibita in numerosi Paesi nel mondo: ha partecipato a prestigiosi Festival, ha lavorato per importanti compagnie e produzioni internazionali, ha preso parte a diversi show televisivi. Tra le curiosità del suo curriculum citiamo il particolare ruolo di stunt-woman che Viviana ha ricoperto sia nel Circo che nella produzione cinematografica (Wonder Woman 1984, Warner Bros) e la visibilità che Viviana può vantare nel mondo dei social sia come artista che come modella ed esperta di fitness.

 

Viviana Rossi was born in Reus, Spain. She had her first success in artistic gymnastics, later moving on to Circus acrobatics. Specialising in aerial straps, Viviana has performed in many parts of the world: she has taken part in many Festivals, worked for the most important companies and international productions, as well as TV appearances. Notable among her achievements is her role as stuntwoman in the Circus and in the movies (Wonder Woman 1984, Warner Bros), as well as her high-visibility social media profile as a model and as a fitness expert.

Tra le discipline del Circo, il filo alto è una delle più pericolose: gli artisti non si limitano a camminare sul filo d’acciaio disposto a grande altezza come ci si aspetterebbe dagli equilibristi, ma fanno del filo il supporto per compiere imprese mozzafiato: è il caso dei Celis Brothers, una troupe costituita da tre donne ed un uomo; doti tecniche, audacia ed entusiasmo latino sono i presupposti di una performance capace di creare una speciale partecipazione emotiva da parte del pubblico soprattutto quando la troupe allestisce piramidi umane che sfiorano gli 11 metri della sommità dello Chapiteau.

 

Amongst the disciplines of the Circus, the high-wire is one of the most dangerous. The performers don’t just walk along steel wires at height like normal balancing acts: they use the wire as a base on which to perform breath-taking feats. The Troupe Celis Brothers, composed of three women and a man, are from a Colombian Circus family. They are presenting a daring high-wire number that will thrill and chill the audience, as they form a human pyramid that almost reaches the 11-metre-high apex of the big top, using all their skills and technique, audacity and energy to delight the crowd.

Maylin e Dominguez sono due giovani artisti nati a Cuba. Il loro sodalizio artistico, il Duo Resurrection, si è consolidato durante gli anni della formazione presso l’Escuela Nacional de Circo de Cuba. Dal 2016 ad oggi Maylin e Dominguez hanno lavorato in numerose compagnie a livello internazionale. Nei cinque minuti del delicato numero di mano a mano in pista a Latina, il Duo Resurrection, con passaggi acrobatici e di danza, intende porgere al pubblico il proprio modo di rappresentare la libertà di ciascun individuo.

 

Maylin and Dominguez are two young performers from Cuba. Their artistic partnership as Duo Resurrection began during their training at l’Escuela Nacional de Circo de Cuba. Since 2016 Maylin and Dominguez have worked in numerous international companies. In the five-minute hand to hand number that they are presenting at Latina, Duo Resurrection use acrobatics and dance to present their idea of personal freedom to the audience.

Steven Ferreri è un giovane artista spagnolo nato nel 2002 nella comunità autonoma dell’Andalusia, in provincia di Siviglia. Steven appartiene ad una famiglia storica del Circo spagnolo, i Ferreri, dei quali rappresenta orgogliosamente la quarta generazione artistica. Fu suo padre ad ideare ed a portare in pista per la prima volta il numero di filo basso con il quale Steven intende proporsi al pubblico internazionale del Festival. Salti mortali in avanti ed all’indietro, un salto all’interno di un cerchio rotante bordato da coltelli sono solo alcuni tra i passaggi più interessanti della sua performance.

 

Steven Ferreri is a young Spanish performer born in Andalusia, in the Province of Seville, in 2002. Steven comes from one of Spain’s oldest Circus families, of which he proudly represents the fourth generation. It was his father who first performed this low tightrope number, which is now being presented here at the Festival in Latina by Steven. Forwards and backwards somersaults, and a jump through a knife-lined hoop, are just some of the highlights of his performance.

Grande appassionata dell’arte circense, la Signora Mirella Iuliano ha affiancato per tutta la vita Giulio Montico, già versatile ed eclettico artista del Circo oltre che compianto ideatore del “Festival Internazionale del Circo – Città di Latina”. Più in generale, la famiglia Montico, strettamente legata al mondo del Circo da più generazioni, è considerata, a buon titolo, depositaria della più antica tradizione circense italiana ed è tuttora coinvolta ad ampio raggio nel mondo del Circo, non solo a livello artistico, ma anche creativo, imprenditoriale, promozionale e dello sviluppo culturale ed educativo di settore. Mirella Iuliano ha fortemente sostenuto ed incoraggiato i più importanti progetti di suo marito Giulio, compresa la creazione del “Festival Internazionale del Circo – Città di Latina” nel 1999.

A passionate and enthusiastic circus fan, Mirella Iuliano was the lifelong partner and devoted wife of the late Giulio Montico, versatile and multifaceted Circus artist as well as fondly remembered creator of the “International Circus Festival – City of Latina”. More generally speaking, the entire Montico Family, associated with the Circus world for many generations, are rightly considered to be custodians of the Italian Circus tradition, and continue to be involved in the Circus world not only on an artistic level but also on the creative, managerial, promotional, and cultural/educational development side of things. Mirella Iuliano always encouraged and supported the projects of her husband, Giulio Montico, including the founding of the “International Circus Festival – City of Latina” in 1999.

1. Alain Frère – Francia/France

Alain Frère, già insignito delle massime decorazioni per meriti culturali sia nella Repubblica Francese che nel Principato di Monaco, è medico di medicina generale nonchè Sindaco della città di Tourrette-Levens in Francia. Grande appassionato del Circo, nel 1974 prese a collaborare con il Principe Ranieri III per la creazione del Festival Internazionale del Circo di Monte-Carlo del quale, a tutt’oggi, è consulente artistico all’interno del comitato organizzatore. Alain Frère è proprietario di una preziosa collezione privata di costumi di scena di alcuni fra i più celebri artisti della storia del Circo.

 

Alain Frère, Mayor of the French city of Tourrette-Levens and a Doctor of Medicine, has also been decorated by both the French Republic and the Principality of Monaco for his cultural undertakings. A huge Circus fan, in 1974 he contributed, alongside Prince Rainier III, towards the founding of the International Circus Festival of Monte-Carlo, of which he is still Artistic Advisor within the organizing committee. Alain Frère is also the owner of a valuable private collection of stage costumes worn by some of the most celebrated performers in the history of the Circus.

Nato in Svizzera nel 1941, Urs Pilz completati gli studi superiori, ha iniziato la carriera nel mondo della moda fino ad occupare la carica di Vice Presidente del marchio Bogner. Da sempre vicino al mondo del Circo, Urs Pilz ha collaborato con il Circo Knie, ha curato le relazioni internazionali del Circo Krone a Monaco, e dal 1981 ha intrapreso la sua importantissima collaborazione con il Festival Internazionale del Circo di Monte-Carlo: dapprima come giurato, poi come coordinatore della Giuria fino ad assumere la carica di Direttore Artistico e di Vice Presidente, ruolo che lo vede tra i più stretti collaboratori di S.A.S. la Principessa Stéphanie di Monaco. Ricopre inoltre la carica di Presidente delle due massime Associazioni di categoria: la Fédération Mondiale du Cirque e la European Circus Association.

 

Urs Pils was born in Switzerland in 1941 and, on completing his schooling, he began his career in the world of fashion, later becoming Vice President of the Bogner label. Interested in the world of the Circus for many years, Urs Pilz has worked with the Circus Knie and in international relations at the Circus Krone in Munich. In 1981 he began his important association with the International Circus Festival of Monte-Carlo, first as a member and then as coordinator of the jury, eventually becoming Artistic Director and Vice President, a role which sees him as one of H.S.H. Princess Stéphanie of Monaco’s closest associates. He is also President of the two main Circus associations: Fédération Mondiale du Cirque and the European Circus Association.

 

3. Istvan Kristof – Ungheria/Hungary

Istvan Kristof è stato Direttore del Fovarosi Nagycircusz, il Circo stabile di Budapest per 24 anni, nonché Direttore del Festival Internazionale del Circo che si svolge nella capitale ungherese ogni due anni. Durante la sua trentennale carriera da acrobata, è stato premiato nei più prestigiosi Festival di Circo Internazionali. A Latina dal 2011 si distingue per svolgere in modo esemplare, trasparente e rigoroso il ruolo di Presidente della Giuria Tecnica Internazionale.

 

Istvan Kristof was the Director of the Favorosi Nagycircusz, the permanent Circus of Budapest over 24 years, as well as Director of the International Circus Festival that takes place in the Hungarian capital every two years. During his 30 year long career as acrobat, he won prizes in many important International Circus Festivals. Since 2011 he distinguished himself in the role of President of the Technical Jury at Latina.

 

4. Peter Dubinsky – Stati Uniti d’America/United States of America

Dopo essersi laureato nelle discipline delle arti sceniche, ed aver incrementato la propria passione per il Circo dirigendo il Moscow Circus, Peter Dubinsky ha fondato la Firebird Productions Inc. della quale a tutt’oggi è Presidente. In tali vesti organizza e produce spettacoli dal vivo di altissimo profilo sia per i parchi tematici del Nord America, sia in ambito più strettamente circense. Le competenze maturate e la qualità degli spettacoli prodotti hanno fatto meritare a Peter Dubinsky i più importanti premi e riconoscimenti in molti Paesi del mondo.

 

Following a Degree in scenic arts and a Directorship of the Moscow Circus, which inspired in him a strong interest in Circus arts, Peter Dubinsky founded Firebird Productions Inc., of which he is still President. In this capacity he produces high-profile live shows for North-American Theme Parks as well as more traditional Circus shows. Experience and know-how in his chosen field have earned Peter Dubinsky worldwide recognition as well as many important and prestigious international awards.

 

5. Pavel Kotov – Canada

Cirque du Soleil, Senior Casting Director

 

Pavel Kotov è stato un atleta di ginnastica artistica di fama mondiale, membro della Squadra Nazionale e Giudice Internazionale della Federazione Internazionale di Ginnastica (FIG). Egli ha inoltre arricchito la sua esperienza nelle arti circensi come porteur nella barra russa, nel Great Moscow Circus. Dal 2004 è membro del Casting Team del Cirque du Soleil, iniziando come talent scout nel settore acrobazia e attualmente Direttore Senior del Casting. Pavel dirige il team che scova talenti, creazione di nuovi spettacoli e ricerca di nuovi artisti per oltre 20 show già esistenti del Cirque du Soleil.

 

Pavel Kotov is a former world-class acrobatic gymnastics athlete, a former member of the Russian national team and an international judge for the International Gymnastics Federation (FIG). He has also acquired experience in the circus arts, notably as a Russian bars porter at the Great Moscow Circus. Member of the Casting Team of Cirque du Soleil since 2004, first as the acrobatic talent scout, and currently as the Senior Casting Director. Pavel leads the team in charge of talent sourcing, new show creations and replacement of artists in over 20 existing shows of Cirque du Soleil.

 

6. Odette Bouglione – Francia/France

Cirque d’Hiver Bouglione, Presidente/President

 

Nata a Parigi, Odette Bouglione è membro di una storica famiglia del Circo francese. Ha trascorso la sua infanzia presso il celeberrimo Cirque d’Hiver. Dall’età di 16 anni è presente come artista sulla scena internazionale essendosi esibita in varie discipline. Odette ha al suo attivo una tournee mondiale ventennale con il Circo Florilegio di Darix Togni. Dal 2006 è rientrata stabilmente a Parigi dove, con i suoi fratelli e le sue sorelle, si è occupata della direzione artistica del Cirque d’Hiver Bouglione e di altre produzioni a carico della sua famiglia. Dal 2021 Odette Bouglione è Presidente dello storico Circo francese.

 

Born in Paris, Odette Bouglione is a member of an eminent Circus family, and spent her childhood in the celebrated Cirque d’Hiver. From the age of 16 she worked internationally as a performer in a variety of disciplines, and travelled the world over a period of twenty years with the Circo Florilegio of Darix Togni. Since 2006 Odette has been back in Paris where, with her brothers and sisters, she is involved in the artistic direction of the Cirque d’Hiver Bouglione and of other family productions. Odette Bouglione has been President of this historical French Circus company since 2021.

 

7. Manuel e Rafael González Villanueva – Spagna/Spain

Rafael e Manuel González Villanueva, membri di una delle più importanti famiglie circensi in Spagna, hanno dedicato la loro intera attività professionale al Circo. Dopo un’intensa attività artistica Rafael e Manuel hanno fondato Productores de Sonrisas dedicandosi così interamente allo Show Management. Numerosi gli spettacoli che recano la loro firma: tra questi ricordiamo il Christmas Show co-prodotto per otto anni presso il Teatro Circo Price a Madrid che raggiunse oltre 500.000 spettatori. Negli anni, poi, si sono succedute a Madrid produzioni di straordinario succeso come: Circo de Hielo, Circo Mágico e Circlassica.

 

Rafael and Manuel González Villanueva belong to one of Spain’s most important circus families, and they have dedicated their entire lives to the Circus. Following long and successful artistic careers, Rafael and Manuel founded Productores de Sonrisas, and moved into Show Management. Rafael and Manuel have produced numerous shows, including the Christmas Show co-produced for 8 years with Teatro Price in Madrid, which reached an audience of over half a million people. Over the years, they have produced many successful shows such as: Circo de Hielo, Circo Màgico, and Circlassica.

 

8. Mathias Reichle – Germania/Germany

Europa Park, Director of Entertainment

 

Mathias Reichle ha studiato presso la Hochschule di Karlsruhe. Dal 2004 lavora presso l´Europa-Park ove, dal 2016, ricopre la carica di Direttore Entertainment. Con i suoi 25 spettacoli al giorno, gli innumerevoli eventi serali, più di 350 artisti provenienti da numerosi Paesi del mondo, 100 attrazioni  e oltre 5,7 milioni di visitatori all´anno, l´Europa-Park può certamente meritare il titolo di parco tematico più grande d´Europa. Di fatto Europa-Park per ben 7 volte è già stato insignito del premio “Golden Ticket Award”  come “miglior parco di divertimenti al mondo”.

 

Mathias Reichle studied at Hochschule in Karlsruhe. He has been working for Europa-Park since 2004, and has been Director of Entertainment since 2016. With 25 shows a day, numerous evening events, 350 performers from all over the world, 100 attractions, and over 5.7 million visitors a year, Europa-Park is Europe’s largest theme park; it has won the ‘Golden Ticket Award’ seven times for being ‘best amusement park in the world’.

 

9. Stefan Huber – Germania/Germany

Stefan Huber, 38 anni, è Produttore e Direttore artistico: originario di Mannheim, in Germania, è residente con la sua famiglia in Spagna, a Benidorm. All’età di soli 10 anni iniziò a produrre musica fino al conseguimento di una Laurea in Ingegneria del suono nel 2005. Direttore artistico del Palazzo Dinner Show presso il Kunz Theatre di Mannheim dal 2006 e del Crazy Palace Karlsruhe dal 2013. Dal 2016 Stefan è CEO nell’Agenzia di marketing, eventi e comunicazione GO7 AG a Mannheim, nota per i suoi famosi utenti e per l’organizzazione di eventi come CARstival, un festival adeguato alle restrizioni imposte dalla pandemia, oltre a numerosi eventi per compagnie quali la UEFA o la SAP SE. Stefan è stato altresì direttore artistico di gala-show, concerti, e produzioni teatrali come il Roncalli Apollo Varieté, MS Europa, Udo Lindenberg e molte altre ancora.

 

Stefan Huber is a 38-year-old Producer / Artistic Director based in Mannheim, Germany, and Benidorm, Spain with his family. He started to produce music at the age of 10, going on to gain a bachelor’s degree in sound engineering in 2005. He has been the Artistic Director of the Palazzo Dinner Show in Mannheim Kunz Theatre since 2006, and of the Crazy Palace Karlsruhe since 2013. Since 2016 he’s been CEO of Marketing, Event and Communications Agency GO7 AG in Mannheim, Germany, which has well-known national and international clients and has run events like the CARStival, a car-festival in times of COVID-19, as well as numerous events for companies like the UEFA or SAP SE. Stefan has also been Artistic Director of galas, concerts and theatre productions such as Roncalli Apollo Varieté, MS Europa, Udo Lindenberg, and many more.

 

10. Ricardo Rossi Ribes – Spagna/Spain

Nato in Spagna, ma di origini Italiane, Ricardo Rossi Ribes rappresenta la sesta generazione artistica di una storica famiglia circense. Ricardo ha rappresentato al meglio la tradizione di spettacolo di cui è depositario portando il “marchio” Rossi nei circhi e nelle produzioni di spettacolo più prestigiose al mondo. Celeberrimo il numero di “icariani dei fratelli Rossi” che Ricardo ha presentato con suo fratello Alejandro. Nel pieno della pandemia, Ricardo Rossi Ribes ha deciso di fare impresa come produttore ed ha presentato in Spagna lo spettacolo denominato: "Mystike - Le Grand Cirque". 

 

Born in Spain of Italian lineage, Ricardo Rossi Ribes represents the sixth generation of performers in his renowned Circus family. Ricardo has taken the artistic traditions that he represents all over the world, with the ‘Rossi’ name appearing in the most important circuses and performances venues on the planet. The Rossi Brothers’ Icarian Games number, performed with his brother Alejandro, is a shining example of the best of Circus. During the recent pandemic, Ricardo Rossi Ribes decided to move into show production, and presented ‘Mystike – Le Grande Cirque’ in Spain.

 

11. Pierre Meyer – Francia/France

Royal Palace, Founder and Director

La famiglia Meyer, in Francia, negli anni ’80 trasformò un dancing di periferia in una delle più importanti sedi per lo spettacolo dal vivo della Francia. Il motore di questa trasformazione fu senz’altro Pierre Meyer: la sua passione per gli show in stile americano lo accompagnava fin da quando, ancora adolescente, si occupava della ristorazione presso il locale di famiglia nella cui sala da pranzo fece allestire uno spazio per le esibizioni degli artisti. Fu così che iniziò l’avventura che portò Pierre nel 1996 a lanciarsi in un progetto ambizioso: una sala per gli spettacoli con oltre mille posti a sedere. Stava nascendo il Royal Palace di Kirrwiller: oggi il terzo music-hall della Francia per dimensioni subito dopo il Lido ed il Moulin Rouge di Parigi.

 

In the ‘80s, the Meyer family transformed a provincial dance venue into one of the most important live performance arts venues in France. The catalyst for this change was Pierre Meyer: he worked for his family’s restaurant from adolescence, but he loved American-style shows, and he created a space in the dining area for performers. This was how he started an adventure that saw the launch, in 1996, of an ambitious project: a showroom with over 1,000 seats. The Royal Palace de Kirrwiller is today the third-largest venue in France, after the Lido and the Moulin Rouge in Paris.

 

12. Aldo Vazquez – USA

Circus Vazquez USA and FLIP Circus USA, Director

 

Aldo Vazquez, cresciuto nell’ambiente del Circo, ha maturato esperienze trasversali in ogni ambito della logistica e della produzione di spettacoli circensi. Attualmente a capo di un team di oltre 70 persone, Aldo è stato artista per circa trenta anni sia come acrobata che come addestratore. Ad oggi è Direttore di due unità: il Circo Vazquez USA ed il Circo FLIP USA. In entrambe le strutture ha in carico tanto gli aspetti tecnico - logistici quanto quelli riconducibili alla Direzione artistica.

 

Aldo Vazquez, who grew up in the Circus, has vast experience across the board of production and logistics of Circus shows. At the moment, he heads a team of over 70 people, but he was a performer for thirty years, both as an acrobat and as an animal trainer. He is currently the Director of two units: Circo Vazquez USA and Circo FLIP USA. In both units he is responsible for the technical and logistical side as well as the artistic direction.

 

13. Louisa Raluy – Spagna/Spain

Circo Raluy Legacy, Direttore/Director

 

Louisa Raluy Rastall, nata in Italia, ha origini per metà inglesi e per metà spagnole. Rappresenta la quarta generazione artistica di una celeberrima famiglia circense. Suo nonno Luis Raluy Iglesias fondò il Circo Raluy che successivamente fu diretto dal suo figlio maggiore Luis Raluy Tomas e dai suoi fratelli e, più tardi a Louisa e sua sorella Kerry attualmente a capo del Circo Raluy Legacy. Ha lavorato in tutto il mondo con il suo Circo, ha diretto un Festival in Spagna, è stata più volte membro delle Giurie Tecniche internazionali. Louisa parla correntemente ben otto lingue ed ha completato la sua formazione con studi di ambito psicologico e del giornalismo.

 

Louisa Raluy Rastall, born in Italy, is half English and half Italian. She represents the fourth generation of a celebrated circus family. Her grandfather, Luis Raluy Iglesias, founded Circus Raluy which was later under the direction of his eldest son Luis Raluy Tomas along with his brothers and, later on, with Louisa and her sister Kerry who is now head of the Raluy Legacy Circus. She has worked all over the world with her circus, has directed Festivals in Spain, and has been a member of numerous International Technical Juries. Louisa speaks eight languages and has studied in the fields of psychology and journalism.

 

14. Daniele Togni – Italia/Italy

American Circus – Co-produttore/Co-producer

 

Daniele Togni (1967), figlio di Enis e nipote di Ferdinando, appartiene alla quarta generazione della celebre dinastia circense. Dopo aver mosso i primi passi come acrobata e saltatore, segue la tradizione familiare specializzandosi nelle discipline equestri in veste di cavallerizzo d’alta scuola e addestratore di cavalli nelle tre piste del Circo Americano, ma anche nelle altrettanto prestigiose arene del Ringling-Barnum negli Usa, alla Stadthalle di Vienna e al Favarosy NagyCirkusz di Budapest. Nel frattempo intorno ai 20 anni si occupa della gestione generale dell’American Circus, curando gli aspetti logistici del grande complesso, l’amministrazione e gli aspetti finanziari. Nella seconda metà degli anni Ottanta, collabora alla regia degli spettacoli del Festival del Circo di Monte Carlo di cui la famiglia Togni ha per 15 anni curato la direzione tecnica e l’allestimento delle strutture. Attualmente è coproduttore dell’American Circus.

 

Daniele Togni, born in 1967, is the son of Enis Togni and the grandson of Ferdinando Togni: he represents the fourth generation of this famous circus dynasty. Having begun his career as an acrobat, he then followed the family tradition, specialising in the equine discipline of Haute Ècole and training horses for the three-ring Circo Americano, as well as in the Barnum and Bailey Circus in the USA, at the Stadthalle in Vienna, and at the Favarosy NagyCirkusz of Budapest. Meanwhile, when he was about 20, he was running the American Circus, taking care of logistics and managing its finances. In the second half of the ‘80s, he assisted the directors of the Monte-Carlo Circus Festival, where the Togni family were technical directors as well as being responsible for staging the venue for 15 years. Daniele Togni is currently co-producer of the American Circus.

 

15. Yerik Zholzhaksynov – KazakIstan/Kazakhstan

Artista d’Onore della Repubblica del Kazakhistan, Yerik Zholzhaksynov è stato insignito della medaglia dell’Ordine di Parasat in accordo con il Decreto del Presidente della Repubblica del Kazakhistan. Famoso attore nel suo Paese, ha recitato in oltre trenta film. Ogni anno il Capital Circus of Nur-Sultan city ospita il Festival Internazionale delle Arti del Circo denominato “Echo of Asia” che nel 2020 ha celebrato il suo quindicesimo anniversario.

 

Honored Artist of the Republic of Kazakhstan, awarded the Order of Parasat according to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Famous actor of the Republic of Kazakhstan acting in more than thirty films. Every year the Capital Circus of Nur-Sultan city holds the International Festival of Circus Art “Echo of Asia”. In 2020 the Capital Circus celebrated its 15th anniversary.
